Will a foam yoga mat not slip around on wooden floors or will i need rubber for that? thanks.?

It depends if the wooden floor is polished or not. If it is not polished than the foam mat should be fine, however if the floor is polished I would suggest a rubber one. Rubber mats also tend to keep in better condition for longer too.
