Fundamental Yoga Poses And Their Versions

1. THE COBRA Try this in easy phases. Lay down, face prone, legs tightly with each other and stretched backwards, forehead on the floor. Put your hands, palm straight down, slightly below your shoulders. Breathe in and elevate the head, pressing your neck back, now make use of your hands to press the trunk upwards until you are bending in a beautiful arc from the lower backbone to the back of your neck. At first it is sufficient to keep the bent left leg using the right hand. As soon as this is easy, extend downward and hold the left foot using the right hand. If you are the sole renter it will be easier, but if you are sharing the space hopefully you can come to mutual agreements with the others to create a great space for all your classes.

It is key that the space in your yoga studio is clutter free.  Yogic and meditative states are not helped with clutter.  Likewise you want the space to be clean.  Dirty or smelly environments are not appreciated by yoga students.

If the space is not clutter free it makes it difficult for the energy to flow smoothly.  Clutter also weighs heavy on the people in the environment with the clutter.  It is as if every object creates an energetic connection with the person.  So if there is clutter with lots of unnecessary items, the space feels dense and heavy energetically.  Yogic and meditative states are not assisted with a dense energetic state.

Remove all unnecessary items to clutter clear the space.  There is not that much that needs to remain in a yogic environment really.  Also the clearer the space the more space for more yoga mats and students which is a good thing for your yoga business.

Add ambience enhancing items such as incense and candles once the space has been clutter cleared and cleaned. 

The success of your yoga business will be aided by clutter clearing.  Having a great space for your yoga business is essential to keep your students to want to return time and again for a great yoga class.  Retaining enthusiastic students can only be a good thing for your yoga business.

The yoga ashram is a usually quite a well known concept for the yoga teacher.  As yoga teachers we may have stayed on a yoga ashram.  Indeed, many of us could have taken our yoga teacher training course at the ashram.

But how many of us are still drawing from the well of the ashram still today?

Even after obtaining teacher training certification and up and running as a yoga teacher and running a yoga business the yoga ashram still has much to offer.

For yoga teachers burnt out from teaching the ashram is a place of retreat and a step back to self.  Many yoga teachers find it hard to get in enough vital me time in teaching practices that are full and busy.  Yoga teachers are often burnt out running from session to session.
